The Reserves ran out deserved 3 – 2 winners against Kentisbeare, thanks to a good hat-trick from Jordan Lovibond. Manager Alex Howe went with a very youthful squad featuring a number of our Under 18s team for their final friendly.
The match was a very tetchy affair, but the young team stood up to the task. In particular, the hard work and good play from Jordan and Sam Rawlings prompted a few rash challenges from the visitors defence as they struggled to handle them. Sam and his brother Jack stepped into the side with ease and gave very solid performances. Alex took the chance to introduce more of the young players in the second half, with Harvey Newman slotting into central midfield and giving a powerful performance.
Overall it was a very pleasing result and performance and it was great to see the successful Under 18s start to merge in with our Reserve team.
