More than 200 people attended the funeral of Clack at Taunton Crematorium on Tuesday. The place was packed with friends and family which just proved what a fantastically popular person he was.
There were tributes from John’s wonderful cousin Anita and one of his best mates Phil Foster as well as a contribution from Cullompton Rangers. Tina also had some very moving words to say about her late husband.
We learnt several things about John’s life which many of us were not aware of, from his premature birth and his fight to survive his early days to the subsequent battles with arthritis, that fighting spirit never left him.
It was only fitting that we left the crematorium to “You’ll Never Walk Alone” which reduced most of the congregation to tears.
Many, many stories were recalled back at the clubhouse afterwards all told with a smile as Clack would have wanted.
A special thank you to the Cully Ladies who provided a magnificent spread and helped towards giving Clack such a memorable send off.
RIP mate.
