The First Team progressed to the Second Round of the FA Vase for the first time in our history when a Dan Baily goal saw them get the better of Hengrove Athletic from the Western League. Hedley commented “I don’t suppose that it was much of a spectacle for the supporters with chances very few and far between, but what chances there were I think we had the better ones. I don’t think they caused us too many problems defensively mainly because our two central defenders were in such commanding form. I was pleased for Bailo to get the goal which was rich reward for the shift he put in, indeed all the lads were solid and determined for the ninety minutes and fully deserved to progress to the next round when hopefully we will miss the other Peninsula sides when the names come out of the hat on Monday.
Billy Greene was the hero for the Ressies as they maintained their place at the top of the table when he got the only goal which was enough to see off Axmouth Utd.
