There was huge disappointment at Edenvale Park after heroic efforts by the ground staff that the referee decided the pitch was unfit. Pooor Helston made the mammoth journey up from Cornwall in vain. The pitch had been passed fit by a referee at 10.15 but then a monsoon like storm at 11.45 left standing water on the pitch. This was cleared but all for nothing as the referee felt that the game would develop into a farce. We respect the referee’s decision and must now try and find a suitable date to play the game which is not going to be easy.
The Reserves game at Woodbury was also called off.
