Rangers suffered a mauling at the hands of an in form Exmouth Town team on Boxing Day. Having survived constant pressure for the first ten minutes Rangers conceded a soft goal from a corner but we were quickly on level terms when Ash Donahue smashed home a free kick from the edge of the box. That was as good as it got for Rangers when shortly after Adam Langabeer was given a straight red card after reacting to a challenge, apparently he stamped on the Exmouth player. The second half was always going to be an uphill battle and so it proved and once the third goal went in the 70th minute it was going to be a case of damage limitation. With Lady Luck on our side and some poor finishing we kept the score down to 5-1 at the final whistle. The manager was not best pleased after the game with the performance of several of the players who appeared to have enjoyed Christmas much more than their opponents.
