Rangers continued their climb up the table with a further three points after overcoming a spirited Crediton side 3-0 at Edenvale Park.
The home team were missing Jack Bryant and brother Connor was still feeling the effects of a hamstring strain and Simon’s bruised foot was not quite 100% which meant they took their places on the subs bench.
Rangers soon put the visitors under pressure and dominated early proceedings and it came as no surprise when after 20 minutes we took the lead when Joe Chamberlain controlled a pass from Lewis Waldy in the box, swivelled and blasted home from 10 yards. Just 5 minutes later the lead was doubled when Langer’s surging run into the box was halted by a late chaleenge from the Kirton keeper and up stepped Bailo to despatch the spot kick.
The game was effectively put to bed on the stroke of half time when Josh Wadham cut in from the left and scored with a 20 yard screamer to give Rangers a three goal cushion.
The second half was a really drab affair with neither side getting a worthwhile effort on target. Rangers were very comfortable sitting on their 3-0 lead which Crediton never looked like threatening apart from one effort from Jordan Lovibond which was comfortably dealt with by Seedhouse in the Rangers goal.
Liam was happy enough after the game “Once we got our third I thought that was game over and, although we created very little ourselves I thought we were in control in the second half and I was pleased that we were able to give Connor and Simon another week to recover from their injury worries.”
