Rangers 3-1 victory at Godolphin Atlantic stretched our unbeaten run to 6 games. Another brace from Jordan Harris and a second of the season for Isaac Reed secured the three points and moved us above our hosts to 9th in the table.
Somewhat surprisingly Godolphin chose to play down the slope with the gale force wind behind them in the first periodand they never came to terms with the conditions as we dominated possession with our passing football. We were most unfortunate to go behind when an inswinging corner cannoned into the bottom of the corner off the shin of a home side attacker. WE were sure that wif we could keep it to just one nil at half time we would have a great chance of winning the game in the second half. But we so easily could have gone into the break on level terms but Jordan’s penalty after Brandon Parsons had been brought down was well saved by the home keeper.
As expected, with the elemants in our favour, we took the game to the opposition but were finding it difficult to create clear chances and in the end, on the hour, it took a bit of magic from Jordan as he smashed home free kick from 20 yards. Ten minutes later we had an effort charged down which the referee deemed to be deliberate hand ball and a second penalty. It is fair to say the home team did not agree with the decision and two of their players were shown red cards. Jordan put the earlier miss behind him and smashed home the spot kick. The home team battled valiantly with nine men but could not prevent us stretching our lead when Isaac’c inswinging corner found its way into the back of the net.
This was very professional performance by our lads, once again our playing resources were stretched to the limit as no fewer than five players were unable to make the journey but the twelve who travelled all played their part.
