Rangers have gone from 19th to 11th in the League table with the three points gained from their hard earned victory over their local rivals. This was not a game which live long in the memory but “a win is a win” as the saying goes.
We took an early lead when Rob Norrish was the quickest to react after Alex Collins spilled Adam Langabeer’s long range effort straight into his path. The Withy keeper atoned for his early mistake with some good saves as Rangers enjoyed the lion’s share of possession but it was not unitil the stroke of half time that the second goal came, Bradley Kelly broke down the right and was brought down just inside the box. Our record from spot kicks has not been good this season but Alex Greening stepped and confidently despatched the spot kick.
The second half was a drab affair although Max Cooper brought a good save out of Nathan early in the second half, we had a couple of efforts which were scrambled away and substitute Jordan Lovibond, who was making his debut for us, showed some excellent touches and a real turn of pace when he came on.
It is now on to Torpoint on Tuesday night and hopefully another three points to cement our mid table position.
