Rangers came away from Marlborough Park with a deserved point in what was an excellent game of football and a draw was probably the right result although we will look back at the game and think about Joe Chamberlain’s shot which came back of the post which could have won the game for us.
Rangers were able to field an unchanged side for the first time this season for this game against top of the table Ilfracombe and it was the hosts who took the lead when Rangers failed to defend a corner and went behind after 20 minutes but we were soon back on level terms when their keeper cxould only parry a Joe Chamberlain effort and Connor Bryant was first to react and grab the equaliser which was no more than we deserved.
The second half was keenly fought with neither side able to break down two excellent defences.
Liam was pleased with the point but it was the home supporters who were the happier of the two teams as they felt Rangers were one of the best teams to have visited them this season.
