Rangers were convincingly beaten 5-0 at a windswept and damp Brixham on Saturday. The pitch itself though was in surprisingly good nick considering the rain that had fallen.
We started with strong wind at our backs and for the first half hour there was lettle to choose beteween the two sides but then two dreadful defensive errors as half time was approaching meant that we were two nil down at the break and facing the elements in the second period.
Any chance of a Rangers fightback was quickly squashed as another mix up led to a third goal for the home team. Beechy shot just wide which may have given us a lifeline but two superb long range strikes left us with the sorry scoreline of 0-5.
This was our first competitive game since the 21st October and with lads unable to train this week due to a waterlogged Edenvale Park they certainly looked a bit ring rusty. Our cause was not helped with having to finish with ten men after what looked like nasty muscle strains for Joe Chamberlain and Sam Bryant.
