Rangers were leading 2-1 with ten minutes to go when the game was turned on it’s head by a controversial refereeing decision when he somehow failed to spot a clear Axminster foul right under his nose and allowed play to continue with most of the players having stopped waiting for his whistle, of course it did not come and Axminster went to equalise with a Cully own goal. Sam Bryant was then sin binned leaving us to play out the game with ten men. Then worse was to follow in the dying minutes when Cully keeper Luke Vernon slipped as he came out to clear a long through ball and the ball ended up at the feet of ex Cully boy Tony Pinder who slotted the ball into the empty net.
Earlier Cully had taken the lead from the penalty spot after Jordan Lovinbond was upended and Danny Baily strode up and did the honours. Langers then gifted an early Christmas present to the Tigers as he chested a hopeful through ball into the path of Pinder to equalise. We were soon in front again when Jack Mills headed Bailo’s corner back across the box where Jack Bryant was waiting to head home.
Not a good day at the office with a home game against Elmore coming up on Monday.
