Rangers put in a first class performance aginst their neighbours Tiverton Town. Although the visitors who enjoyed the greater share of the ball it was Rangers who always looked dangerous on the break and it was on 15 minutes when a counter attack led by Evrad Yeo led to passing to Ollie Aplin who was able to side foot the ball home from 6 yards. Tivvy replied on the stroke of half time when the lethal left foot of Jordan Bastin scored off the far post.
The second half was more of the same with both teams making numerous changes. It was Rangers in front again on the hour when Ethan Phillips slipped a free kick into the unmarked Danny Baily who made no mistake form 10 yards. Tivvy equalised shortly after with a goal which had a tinge of controversy about. A corner was awarded when most people on the pitch thought it should have been a goal kick, but with the Rangers still bemoaning their luck they allowed their guards to drop and River Allen’s cross come shot avoided everyone and nestled in the bottom corner of the net.
This brought the pre season friendlies to a close and looking back Liam was pleased with the way things have gone and now looks forward to kick off on Saturday.
