Rangers recovered from the disappointment of losing to Plymouth Parkway in mid week to score 5 against lowly Launceston.
Despite torrential overnight rain Edenvale Park was in fine shape for the game and it was not long before Rangers were asserting themselves against the visitors. Ash Donohue was the main danger man for Rangers in the first half and he was first to react when The Clarets failed to clear a corner and he stroked the opening goal from close range after 30 minutes. He then hit the post when he looked certain to add to his tally but a mixture of last ditch defending and poor marksmanship kept the lead down to a single goal at the break.
The home side once again dominated proceedings and were soon to double their lead when a Greeno corner was punched away but fell invitingly to Bailo who lifted it over the stranded keeper. It was now all Cully and they went on to score four goals in rapid succession. Ash rose highest at a Greeno corner to head home at the back post. Substitute Rhys Parsons soon made his prescence felt with a header when he stooped at the near post to expertly guide home a Bailo cross to make it four. Then Bailo went on one of his solo runs which this time with the ball nestling in the bottom corner to make it five. Rangers blotted their copy book when they gave away a goal in the dying seconds to make the final scoreline 5-1.
It is now on to Bodmin on Wednesday night where we are sure to be in for a tough game but hopefully our lads will have their shooting boots on again.
