Rangers must be kicking themselves for coming away from Bodmin without at least a share of the spoils. A mixture of missed chances in the first half and some outstanding goalkeeping from the Bodmin custodian meant that in the end we suffered a 2-1 defeat.
It all started so well for us when after only ten minutes Lloyd Beech was on hand to tap in a cross at the back post. Chances then went begging with Bailo, Greeno and Ash all going close. The home team began to assert themselves as our lads tired in the heat and the number of matches over the past three began to take it’s toll in the stifling heat. Just when we were beginning to think we had ridden the storm a disputed free kick was awarded against us and Adam Carter was on hand to steer home a header. Into the last five minutes a near post header from a corner gave Bodmin the lead. There was still time for Corey Harvey in the Bodmin goal to bring off a miraculous save from a Greeno header and then he managed to tip over a Donahue thunderbolt to ensure that his club secured the three points.
We could not have asked more from our lads but in all honesty we could have put the game to bed by half time and were made to pay the penalty.
Final game on Wednesday night if we can get the walking wounded out on the pitch for one more big effort. It won’t be easy as we take on third placed Falmouth who were able to have a stroll in the sun on Monday.
Team: Seedhouse- Evans, Orchard, Reed, Beech. Ansell, O’Loughlin(B. Riggs 70 mins), Langabeer, Greening, Baily, Donahue, Ford.
