This was a closely fought contest and Rangers will think that they deserved a point from a spirited performance but a lack of quality in and around The Clarets penalty area meant that we came away with nothing.
The home team were soon into their stride and went ahead after just 10 minutes when Rangers were caught sleeping a t a corner which allowed the cross to come in unchallenged and then a free header in the six yard box. Poor defending which we learnt from and ensured that there was no repeat. Bailo had a great chance to equalise but his goal bound shot was blocked and then Brandon Parsons almost got an equaliser. Marcus Fanson was causing problems out wide but we just could not come up with the end product. As Rangers chased the game with the home keeper seemingly taking for ever to take his goalkicks we were grateful to James Ansell for some great defending and also Adam in goal who was forced to bring off a couple of fine saves.
