Rangers signed off the season with an emphatic 5-2 victory over Falmouth on Wednesday night. The visitors may have had one eye on their Cup Final on Saturday and if so they were certainly made to pay the price as we raced into a 3-0 lead. After only six minutes Greeno smashed home a loose ball from close range, ten minutes later Brandon Parsons took advantage of a defensive slip and raced clear to slot home past the advancing keeper and then on the half hour Marcus Fanson broke down the right and crossed for Ash Donahue to score at the back post. Falmouth did pull one back on the stroke of half time when Matt Buchan was first to react from a set piece.
Any hopes of a Falmouth comeback were soon dashed as we got a fourth soon after the restart when Marcus Fanson volleyed home from 20 yards over Ryan Barnes in the visitor’s goal. When Danny Baily was introduced from the sub’s bench on 70 minutes he did not take long to extend the lead when a bit of typical Bailo individuality notched our fifth. With virtually the last kick of the game Golden Boot contender Jordan Annear made the score 5-2 from close range.
This was a great way to finish the season and the lads thoroughly deserved the three points as, once again, they dug deep to put on a really gutsy performance.
