Rangers were within minutes of pulling off a major shock at Kimberley Stadium on Wednesday night but a late penalty converted by Ryan Richards gave Saltash a share of the spoils after trailing to a Marcus Fanson goal after 17 minutes.
This was a tremendous performance by our lads who defended as if their lives depended on it in the second half after having had the better of the first half. Yet, despite everything that The Ashes threw at us, I don’t remember Dan having a serious save to make throughout the game. Ironically after the penalty in the 88th minute we almost stole the three points at the death when Marcus Fanson’s cross was diverted inches over his own crossbar by their centre half.
Unfortunately we picked up a few knocks during the game with Langers having to go off with a troublesome groin mid way through the first half and Ashley could not carry on in the second half with a sore ankle. Hopefully we will have Ollie Aplin and Riggsy back for Saturday’s trip to Torpoint.
