Rangers took on Torridgeside on Wednesday night at Edenvale Park and ran out deserved winners 2-0. Unfortunately the Club’s new signing declared himself unavailable at the last minute so Rangers were unchanged from the team that narrowly lost at Newton Abbot on Saturday.
The exchanges were even for the first twenty minutes with neither side cutting out any clear chances but when jack Bryant broke doen the right his cross was helped on by Joe Chamberlain to the lethal left foot of Jack Lewis who made no mistake from 10 yards and give Rangers the lead which they kept until half time.
When many supporters were looking to take their seats for the second half Rangers had doubled their lead. Conor Bryant swivelled on the edge of the six yard box and despatch the ball in the bottom corner. Rangers seemed to slacken their grip on the game for the next twenty minutes as they strived to retain their two goal cushion and this they were able to do and see out the game with Luke in the Rangers goal rarely called into action.
Clive was pleased with the result “It was nice to have a clean sheet. I think our defence is now becoming more of a settled unit and if we can continue in that mould I am sure we will climb the table.”
