After fifteen minutes you would have been forgiven for thinking that Rangers wer going to win this game in a canter. When Ash Mitchell swept home an Ollie Aplin cross after 15 minutes we went on to miss four more gilt edged chances and then out of the blue a long range effort from Ivybridge found it’s way into the bottom corner of Rob Holmes’s net. This was quickly followed by a close range free header from a corner and right on half time it was three.
Shortly after half time another free header from a corner and it is 4-1. Rangers showed some steel in the next ten minutes when firstly James Ansell scored from close range followed by a header from Ollie. It was now all Rangers and we then hit the bar twice with a Dan Cullen header and then a long range effort from Greeno and desperate defending robbed us of a deserved equaliser. Then with five minutes left a free kick was headed back into the path of Sam Stevens who sewed the game up for the home team.
Liam was naturally down after the game “That was awful defending by us at set pieces with players not doing their jobs. If you score 3 goals away from home you expect to come home with the points but in the end we got what we deserved.”
