Hedley is till pinching himself to believe what happened in the second half at Edenvale Park on Saturday. “The first half was OK as far as I was concerned but I felt that we still had more to offer in the second half. Their keeper kept them in the game with some exceptional saves and when they scored with their only effort on target in the first half I feared the worse. At half time I told the lads to go out and express themselves and be more ruthless and thankfully after the first ten minutes the score was 4-1. But then we concede another sloppy goal to give them a lifeline at 4-2. We went on to lead 6-2 before Callington pulled one back right at the end. The second period was everything a spectator could wish for but it was nightmare if you were a manager. Not many games where you will see eight goals in 45 minutes along with a red card and a couple of yellows but the important thing is that we bagged the three points.”
Next up it’s Exmouth Town away on Boxing Day with an 11am kick off. This is Hedley’s previous club and he is really looking forward to the game. “I’ve still got friends down there and it will be nice to meet up with the committee and some of my old playwers. It is a derby game which always add’s a little spice to the occasion. We are going to the form team at the moment as they have put together a decent run of results but we will be bouyed by our attacking display in our last game, we just need to tighten things up at the back. There are sure to be players missing for the game because family commitments must come first but we will go with what we’ve got and hopefully add to our points tally.”
