Hedley was well pleased with the performance of his lads at home against Godolphin. “They were very difficult conditions but hats off to the groundsman for getting the game on when many around us were cancelled. Thankfully the game went ahead and we were able to reward him with the three points which made all his hard work worthwhile. I am sure that if we had lost he would have been devistated. To be fair though as the game went on and the frost continued to come out of the ground the conditions deteriorated and it became very difficult and I feared the worst after the visitors went ahead with their first attack of note. In the past we would have sulked a bit and felt sorry for ourselves but the lads showed real character and a brace of goals from Robbie Bowker put us in the driving seat at half time. Despite dominating the second period we had to wait until the last minute before Ollie Aplin put the game to bed following up Greeno’s shot which came back off the post. “
