Assistant Manager Matthew Scott reflects on Newquay victory. “It was an excellent result for us and that makes three on the bounce and it’s seems to be coming together as a team. I think the players are looking fitter and stronger and a little sharper. We now have competition for places in all positions and you only had to look at our bench on Saturday which clearly demonstrated that fact. Beechy, Dan Baily and Robbie Bowker are all desperate to get into the starting line up and this puts pressure on the starting eleven. Against Newquay we got an early goal and then followed that up with two more before half time thanks to some clinical finishing which we have lacked in recent games. By the end it could have been more but the performance overall was very pleasing. This Saturday we face Wincanton in the FA Vase and to be honest it is not a competition that we have done well in over recent seasons but we have a great chance to progress and the carrot of another home draw should we get through is very inviting. We will have a look at Wincanton on Tuesday night which will give us a better of idea of what we will be up against but we should be full of confidence after our last three performances.”
