“That result was just what we needed” was Hedley’s comment after the game at Helston after we had run out 4-1 winners. “After the battering we got at Plymouth Parkway I wanted a response from the players and I certainly got one. The tempo of our play was much nearer where it needs to be and that is something we must show in all our games, beginning on Saturday against St Austell. We were quickly out of the blocks but somehow found ourselves a goal down after 20 minutes and you begin to wonder if it is not going to be your day but we got a goal back quickly when Tom Beddow’s goal bound shot was helped into his own net by a Helston defender and then Ash got on the end of Tom’s cross to put us 2-1 up at half time which was no more than we deserved. We continued our momentum in the second half and the score line could have been more emphatic if we had taken all of our chances. “
