Hedley was disappointed with the start his team made against Parkway last Saturday. “The game was effectively beyond us after the first 7 minutes. They were two great finishes but we were like rabbits dazzled by headlights which was a real shame as we were coming off the back of two straight wins and I really fancied us to do well against a team which will surely be up there at the end of the season. Although we steadied the ship and then hit the crossbar the final five minutes were a disaster for us as firstly we failed to clear a hopeful punt up field and then Dan in goal was caught in possesssion and was then penalised for bringing down their striker and was shown a straight red card. To be fair to Dan though he had just received lengthy treatment for a head injury after being clattered at a corner only minutes earlier. So the second half was going to be a matter of damage limitation with Tom Beddow donning the gloves and to be fair we did really well with ten men and even pulled a goal back from a penalty before they went on to grab two late goals but not before Beechy had a great header cleared off the line. Hopefully we will learn from this defeat and we need to be on our game right from the kick off if we are going to compete against the top teams in this league and we will all need to work much harder throughout the 90 minutes in future. We now look forward to Camelford(weather permitting) but not before we have had a training session on the astroturf on Tuesday night when the lads will be given the opportunity to get the Parkway performance out of their systems.
