Rangers went down 6-0 to an inpressive Tavistock side last night although the scoreline could have been different if our finishing had been better and Lady Luck had been on our side in the second half.
The first half was dominated by the home team although we shot ourselves in the foot with some naive defending to allow them to move into a 3-0 lead at the interval. All we had to show for our efforts was aheader from Ash Donahue which came back off the post on the stroke of half time. The second half saw us take the game to Tavvy and we should have clawed three goals back before we conceded our fourth and the game. Firstly Dan Baily had a shot cleared off the line , then sub Luke Abrahams headed just over before ratlling the underside of the bar with another header. We were made to pay for these misses as the mercurial Glyn Hobbs ran riot in the final quarter of the game netting a hat trick. Rangers were desperately unlucky to concede a penalty in the dying seconds but Dom Aplin pulled off a great save to prevent any further damage to the scoreline.
