Rangers travelled to Bolitho Park on Saturday full of optimism after a run of great results and were hoping to make a dent in Plymouth Parkway’s 100% record but it was not to be. After only 30 seconds Rob Norrish was harshly penalised for a foul which was dubious to say the least but then we failed to defend the free kick properly and we were one down. Only a few minutes later a second followed as the Rangers back four appealed in vain for what appeared to be a clear offside but it was not given. Steve Orchard then limped off after an awful tackle with Isaac Reed taking over. There then followed a bit of stability before Brad Riggs clearly brought down a Parkway player and the resultant penalty was hammered home by the prolific Hobbs. Then thankfully the half time whistle came as Rangers just fell apart in the five minutes before the break conceding three more goals in quick succession. This was now looking like a really embarrassing scoreline but the management team of Matthew and Bailo decided to sacrifice Brad Kelly and bring on Simon to shore up the defence and this worked as the only worthwhile strike from either team in the second half was in the dying minutes when Ashley rattled the Parkway crossbar. At least the team manged to restore some pride in the second half because the defence will need to be at it’s best for the visit of free scoring Tavistock on Tuesday night.
