On Saturday Rangers played 80 minutes with 10 men and the last 25 with 9 following two red cards but still came away with a share of the spoils from second placed Brixham AFC.
First for an early bath was Langers for what the referee claimed was a two footed tackle with both feet off the ground, a view not shared by our lads. They thought a yellow would have been the right decision, but despite this setback and going a goal behind we came back with Brandon Parsons in fine form, firstly netting with a superb left footed shot and then setting up Ethan Phillipsto give us a 2-1 lead at the break.
Then twenty minutes into the second half Ethan was the victim of a clumsy tackle to which he retaliated giving the referee no option other than a red card. Simon Hill was introduced to shore up the defence but the home team were able to equalise from a corner but the 9 men of Rangers dug in deep to see out the remainder of the game and earn a pecious point.
Liam was rightly proud of his lads ” I thought Adam’s sending off was really harsh but the Brixham players put the ref under pressure to send him off so I can see why he made that decision. No complaints about the Ethan dismissal but the way the lads dug in for the last twenty five minutes was superb and I was proud of every one of them. The problem is that we will now miss two of our most influential players for 3 games.”
