Ollie Aplin took his tally to 8 goals this season with a hat trick at Sidmouth in the FA Vase. Rangers 5-0 victory saw them progress to the First Round proper of the competition wher they will face AFC Porchester on 12th October.
Rangers had an unchanged line up for the Sidmouth clash and were soon in front when a sublime back heel from Phillips set up Brandon Parsons for a clear run on goal and he made no mistake. On the half hour it was two when Ash Donohue side footed home from cloase range. The game was put to bed on the stroke of half time when Ollie Aplin found himsel in the clear to make it three.
Marcus Fanson was introduced for the second half and he immediately caused the home team problems setting up Ollie with the simplest of chances with 70 minutes gone and repeating the dose ten minutes later to give Rangers a comfortable 5-0 victory.
Liam was delighted with the performance “This was a potential banana skin for us but we went about the job in hand with real purpose and determination and ran out deserved winners in the end. We now need to take that form into our league fixtures and if we do we will soon start climbing the table.”
