For the second week on the trot Rangers concede a late, late goal to rob them of a share of the spois with the visitors Ivybridge Town.
Clive’s hopes of fielding a new striker were dashed when he felt unwell during the morning so Ollie Nott was brought in to shore up the midfield in place of the unavailable Sam Jones and Lloyd Beech made a welcome come back in place of the injured George Painter. Mike Humphreys was still missing through suspension.
Rangers started brightly and could easily have been two goals up but our deficiencies in front of goal were to go on ands cost us dearly. Unfortunately Jack Bryant had to leave the field after 20 minutes with a damaged hamstring with Ben Scott coming on as a replacement. The game reained goalless at half time and was drifting towards a 0-0 draw but with 15 minutes left on the clock Ivybridge got the final touch following a goalmouth scramble. Beechy was then moved up front and responded by rattling the upright with a towering header before stooping to meet a Jack Bryant cross with a near post header for the equaliser. Surely that was the draw secured but in the dying minutes Ollie Aplin popped uf to ram the ball home from close range for the winner.
