Rangers went down 2-0 at home to Exwick Villa on Wednesday night. Although enjoying most possession, especially in the second half, we never looked like breaking down a solid Villa defence.
The visitors took the lead after 15 minutes when their speedy winger was left in the clear of a static Rangers defence and the dose was repeated in injury time at the end of the game.
These are worrying times for Clive as he continues in his quest to strengthen the squadand he is confident of having a few new faces in for the visit of Braunton on Saturday. He commented after the game “We are desperately missing Langers in the middle of the park, his energy and enthusiasm wears off on other players but he is unlikely to be ready for the League opener on 7th August so other players must step up to become leaders on the pitch. We have enough experience in the squad and I am sure that one good performance will lift us but I am fully aware that we need strengthening and I am working my socks off to come up with the answers.”
