A weakened Rangers side were beaten 4-0 at Callington in their opening game of the season. We were slow out of the blocks after arriving late due to very heavy traffic and we were made to pay when the impressive Dan Pethick put the home side ahead. Rangers small band of supporters finally made it to the ground at 3.15 and saw their team dominate proceedings and squander half a dozen guilt edged chances but once Pethick got his second on the stroke of half time it left Rangers with a mountain to climb. Two goals early in the second half meant there was no way back and the home team ran out comfortable winners.
