Rangers welcomed Torrington to the newly named Adopstar Park on Saturday which ended in a comfortable 4-2 victory for the lads.
Three changes were made to the starting line up from the previous weeks FA Vase victory at Callington with Adam Langabeer , Sam Bryant and Joe Wilkinson replacing Matt Futcher ,Lloyd Beech and Ollie Simkin .
Rangers got off to the perfect start racing into a 2-0 lead within 5 minutes of the kick off. Firstly Sam Jones headed home from close range quickly followed by a header from Jack Bryant following a long throw by Jack Lewis.
Jack unfortunately picked up an injury shortly after his goal and was replaced by Ollie Simkin . Rangers remained dominant in the first period with the front three being a constant threat to the away team and on 25 mins increased the lead with a clever back heel from Joe Wilkinson making it 3-0 . Then 10 mins before half time Wilko again raced clear turning the Torrington defender with a lovely piece of skill before slotting home in the bottom corner to make it 4-0 at half time .
The second half was a far more even affair with the away keeper making one fine point blank save from Wilkinson who also hit the bar from a free kick but couldn’t add to his tally .
With 20 mins to go a rash challenge from Luke Vernon in the rangers goal led to a penalty to Torrington which was converted then with 10 mins to go made it 4-2 when a long ball into the box was headed home .
Rangers saw out the final 10 mins comfortably for a well deserved 4-2 victory .
Next up we travel to high flying Brixham FC on Saturday with a 3pm kick off
