The first home game since early December saw Cully entertain Torridgeside.
The game was jointly sponsored by Robbie Broomfield who invited many ex players and Ron Partridge.
The game itself got off to a great start with Joe Wilkinson scoring from the spot after only 10 minutes. Cully continued to dominate the game and it was no surprise when Jack Bryant added a second on 20 minutes with a superb left foot shot from the edge of the box. The game then became a little scrappy as Cully seemed to lose their intensity, allowing Torridgeside back in the game.
A free kick from Torridgeside saw debutant keeper, Thomas Pryke, make a good save, pushing the ball onto the bar. Unfortunately the ball fell to an opposing forward, who easily scored.
The home team had a good chance just before the half time whistle, which flew inches wide if the post.
The second half saw a game of few chances, although Joe had a great shout for a second penalty, but the referee judged that Joe had dived and was duly booked. Strange decision!
Torridgeside began to get on top, pushing Cully onto the defensive but without creating any real chances.
Final score 2-1 to Cully.
It was good to see Thomas Pryke back playing for Cully, having come through the Club’s youth section. We wish him well.
