A Wednesday evening game for Cullompton who entertained Teignmouth in the Devon St Lukes Bowl.
Almost from the kick off, a cross from former player Ash Donaghue, was somehow turned over by a Teignmouth forward missing the target. Cullompton soon found their feet, and after 10 minutes a great long ball into the box found Aiden, who scored.
After a long period of possession and missed chances by Cullompton, a mistake in midfield allowed Ash Donaghue to break through and score.
It wasn’t long before Cullompton restored the lead when Harry Varnals latched onto a poor clearance, scoring from the edge of the box.
Cullompton were well on top again, looking to increase their lead when, another lapse in concentration in midfield, allowed
Teignmouth to break away and equalise, with Ash Donaghue getting his second.
Teignmouth had their tails up now, but for a smart save from Will they may have gone into the break with the lead.
Teignmouth began the second half where they left off, and with the game barely minutes old, Ash Donaghue gleefully accepted a poor pass across the box by Leo, to blast home his hat trick.
Cullompton seemed to have lost their way as Teignmouth continued to take charge of the game.
The introduction of Lewis Hill and Will Pinnick completely changed the game, and out of nowhere Lucas White popped up to equalise. Cullompton took back control of the game, and it was no surprise, when after a great run from Aiden, passed across the six yard box, for Lewis Hill to score.
With time running out, Cullompton were totally dominant and saw out the match well on top.
Final score Cullompton 4 Teignmouth 3
Interestingly I heard a comment from a Teignmouth supporter, that for such a young side how mature their performance was, especially in the last 20 minutes of the game
