Cullompton returned to action on Tuesday evening, after their heavy defeat against Sidmouth. Their opponents were Teignmouth, who having their ground out of bounds because of subsidence, switched the game to Cullompton.
A good crowd saw Cullompton kick off, and almost immediately Aiden was through on goal, only to be thwarted by the last defender.
On a hard pitch, controlling the football was difficult, especially as the bounce off the surface was unpredictable.
As the half wore on, both sides struggled to get on top, so much so, that neither keeper were seriously troubled. Cameron Webb came closest to scoring, when his shot hit the woodwork.
It was a relief to everyone when the referee brought an end to an uneventful half.
Teignmouth began the second half with intent, forcing an early corner, which came to nothing.
As the half progressed, the Cullompton manager made a succession of substitutions, hoping to inject some urgency into the team.
The game though drifted into a drab draw, when the referee blew for full time.
The manager will have to put his thinking cap on, especially with the Walter C Parsons cup semi-final coming up in a week’s time.
Final score Teignmouth 0 Cullompton 0
