Honiton were the visitors to Adoptstar Park on Saturday. Honiton are Cullompton’s nearest opponents, just 10 miles away.
From the kick off, Cullompton were on the attack looking to carry their good showing on Tuesday against Barnstaple.
Honiton though were first to create a chance, when a long throw into Cullompton’s penalty area caused some confusion but eventually the ball was cleared to safety.
Winning the ball back in midfield, Zac Williams through ball sent Aiden into the box, who was able to lay it back for Calum Hutchins to score.
The rest of the half was played at a furious pace with Cullompton having most of the play, although again creating and missing good chances.
Honiton also had chances of their own, forcing two fine saves from Will Howard.

The second half saw Honiton making several substitutions, and almost immediately they were putting the Cullompton defence under pressure, although without threatening to score.
Cullompton were looking weary as if their efforts on Tuesday evening was beginning to tell.
It came as no surprise when Honiton equalised, although a little fortunate taking advantage of a half clearance by the home side.
Honiton were now looking for the winner. They snuffed out any attacks from Cullompton, and pushing the home defence to the limit.
To their credit, Cullompton’s back four and the keeper, stood firm, limiting Honiton to shots from outside the penalty area.
Late in the game Cullompton came alive, getting forward and putting pressure on the Honiton defence, without creating any real chances.
Both sides seemed to be settling for a draw, and with no further scares at either end, the referee blew for full time.
Cullompton were disappointed they couldn’t continue their winning run, though on Saturday they came up against a determined and strong Honiton side.
