Rangers put on a much improved performance in our Good Friday fixture at Elmore but couldn’t prevent our hosts from running out 1-0 winners.
Before kick off both teams and supporters took part in a minutes applause for Elmore groundsman Dave Stenner who sadly passed away last week .
Rangers started on the front foot showing much more passion and energy than the previous fixture between the two sides but without creating any clear cut chances . Our best effort a shot from the edge of the box by Joe Wylie which was well saved by the Elmore keeper with Elmore being denied a very good penalty shout after the referee and linesman adjudged the Elmore striker to be offside meaning the teams went in at halftime at 0-0.
The second half turned out to be a fairly dour affair with Elmore taking the lead 15mins into the half with one of the few episodes of quality play when Brandon Parsons picked up the ball in midfield and played a perfectly weighted pass into the path of Lewis Hill who made no mistake beating Luke Vernon with a low strike . Rangers kept going with their best chances coming from corners and set pieces with the Elmore defence standing firm .
Next up is our final home game of the season on Saturday versus Crediton 3pm kick off.
