Rangers got back to winning ways on Saturday with a deserved 2-1 victory over Crediton. The visitors started the better side and will be disappointed not to have taken the lead during the opening period wasting 3 or 4 good opportunities to take the lead .
Rangers then grew into the game and thought they had taken the lead on the half hour when a great strike from Joe Wilkinson from the edge of the box flew into the top corner only to be ruled out by the linesman for offside . Almost immediately Rangers took the lead when Lloyd Beech who started the game as centre forward finished to make it 1-0 . The second half started with Rangers on the front foot and on the hour went 2-0 up with Beechy again in the right place to side foot home a Jack Bryant cross. We then really should have finished the game off but couldn’t get the third goal . A defensive mix up with a couple of minutes to go led to a Crediton getting a goal back but we held on to run out 2-1 winners.
It was great to see James Ansell back in a Cully shirt for the first time this season and also young Ollie Simkin who stepped up from the reserves to make his first team debut .
