Wednesday nights game, Cully welcomed Brixham for a 19:30 KO.
Brixham are clear favourites to win the league, having only lost 2 games this season.
After an even start, Brixham took a fortunate lead, when a harmless shot was deflected out of the reach of Vernon, before trickling over the line.
This could have been a signal for Brixham to dominate the game, but Cully had other ideas, and for the rest of the half Cully were on top, creating some great chances, which unfortunately they weren’t able to convert. The half ended with Cully trailing by the one goal.
Cully started the second half on the attack, and forced an early corner which came to nothing.
Brixham steadily took control of the half and showed why they are top of the league.
Cully were chasing the game now, and with Dan up front causing some problems, they were always in with a chance.
Then out of nothing a rare Brixham attack saw a hopeful cross into Cully’s penalty area being miss kicked by Connor, and unfortunately the ball fell to a Brixham forward who easily slid the ball home.
On the whole Brixham deserved the win, but a young Cully side can take a lot credit from this game.
Final score Brixham winning 2:1.
