Cullompton welcomed Bishops Lydeard for this Boxing Day morning fixture.
The pitch had taken a pounding from heavy overnight rain and survived an early morning pitch inspection.
Cullompton had a full compliment of players, so went into the game full of confidence and at the kick off immediately showed their intentions.
As in earlier matches, the right-sided combination of the White brothers made early inroads into the opposition half, creating scoring chances. It wasn’t until the 24th minute when after an attack down the left, Cully won a corner which was headed home by Sam Bryant.
The score remained 1:0 at half time, with Cully well on top but failing to add to the score line.
The second half started with Cully pushing forward looking to put the game out of Bishops Lydeard’s reach and it wasn’t long before Jack Bryant added to the score when he slotted home the second goal.
Bishops Lydeard were well out of the game now, but credit must be given to their very young side, who kept trying.
Jack Bryant was to add to the score when he stooped low at the far post to head home the third goal.
In the closing minutes, the manager sent on three subs for a deserved run out.
Final score Cullompton 3 Bishops Lydeard 0.
